Hi there

The word ‘bullying’ is sometimes used and abused in the workplace. The concept of ‘reasonable management action’ does not seem to be well understood by employees or Managers, I talk about this later in the newsletter. Please note we only have only a couple of seats left for our Conducting Workplace Investigations Training next Friday.

Also one of those ‘untouchable’ employee matters is those employees who are ill or injured. It becomes really hard to manage these situations without getting guidance from the medical profession, but what are employers allowed to ask? Well I asked Tali that question and she explains all.

Do you realise how many ‘informal’ reference checks take place before job offers are made? From an insider’s perspective I can tell you many candidates are not successful because the prospective employer has conducted some sideline research into the past performance history of the person. We can’t forget Brisbane is a small town! Learn how to hire the right staff at our training program on 16 September (click here).

We would like to welcome Heidi, our new Marketing Co-ordinator to the team this month.
