Whats hot in HR with HRBS
Hi there

Well the first workplace bullying stop order has been issued under the new bullying laws. It was an eye opener for me as I realised how ‘operationally’ directive (intrusive) the orders were. The alleged bully was directed to attend work at certain times (changing the roster) and not make certain comments or send emails and texts to the other party. My take away from this is that anti-bullying orders have the power to affect an employer’s ability to operate their business.

I would also like to welcome our new Industrial Relations Consultant Tali Gibson who has loads of experience assisting clients on the full gambit of HR and employment matters.

Stay tuned next month to find out how to deter and deal with employees who steal IP……….

Are your employment contracts a help or a hinderence to your business?
Are your employment contracts drafted in a way that gives you the flexibility you may need in the good times and the bad times? Or, do your contracts lock you into things that you may not be able to sustain if your business grows (or has a downturn)? Often we find that clients unknowingly lock themselves into discretionary terms without leaving themselves the ability to change things if they need to. Once a term is included in a contract, it's REALLY difficult to change it without your employee's agreement, and let's face it, would you give up your additional annual leave if you didn't have to?? Read on to find out why you should be careful about what you lock yourself into when drafting contracts...
